Holiday Aroma

Ever wish you could get that holiday smell in your home without sweating in front of a hot oven and just basically not put in the work?  Also, who wants to keep buying those expensive candles when all you want is to just fill your home with the smell of love and not fill your pockets with hate? That's a rhetorical question, of course. I have a quick homemade potpourri recipe for you.

 Simmering Potpourri
from the kitchen of Mauresa Perez

2 Tablespoons  ground cinnamon, or as desired
2 Tablespoons ground nutmeg, or as desired
2 orange peels, or as desired
3.5 cups water

1) Bring small pot of water to boil with cinnamon and nutmeg.  Mix thoroughly. Mix in orange peels.
2) Reduce pot to simmer on very low heat.  Add water as liquid gets low.

*Can also be warmed in oil warmer

A Mini Session is for those who might be saving their pennies but still appreciate fine custom photography. If you don't have much time in your schedule but would love to update your family portraits, then these sessions are perfect for you. These sessions are also suitable for those that also need just a few shots for gifts, engagement announcements, or to prep for your family holiday cards. Oooor Maybe you've heard of me through a friend or family member and just want to see what I'm about.

Mini sessions will be offered several times a year at different locations and will be announced in advanced here on my blog or on my Instagram.

*Private Mini Sessions

Want to make a playdate of it? Private Mini Sessions can be hosted at your home with 3 or more scheduled sessions. Invite your neighbor or relatives and friends. The host will receive a complimentary mini session on that day. Have a request for a special spot around town? Let me know and I will make a day of it! Details of these sessions are the same as a regular Mini Session listed above.

There is a $25 fee to repost proofs in the private online gallery.

All Mini Sessions:
~booked back to back so if you are late, you will only have the remaining time to complete your session
~do not allow time for outfit changes
~due to the time restrictions, we will focus on a particular shot - family shots, individuals of 2 children or less, sibling shots, etc. If we have time after we have gotten that shot, we will work on others.

These sessions will be very limited so please contact me soon with any questions or to grab your time!

Beautiful Mama-To-Be With A Quick Behind-The-Scenes

How beautiful is this mother-to-be?! She was able to get in a last minute maternity session with me in a scenic wooded area. Already past her due date, she was due to be induced just a few days after our session.

Happening Hipster Christmas

This year, this family decided to do more of a city trend Christmas session. So of course, we headed out to one of Fort Worth's busy outdoorsy-hipster-health conscience-coffee shop-having-live band playing at local dives-condos and highrises neighborhoods for the perfect memories.

What's more city life than bustling restaurants and shops all within walking distance?

Your Session

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

My goal of each shoot is to get great photos in a relaxed and fun environment. I hope to achieve photos that capture personality at its best: spontaneous, relaxed, natural and elegant. I don't believe in the public "grocery store" studio process because no one should be kept waiting for the time they are paying for only to then be rushed in front of the camera and end up overpaying for dull and basic photos. Photo shoots are a creative process and should be fun.

WHAT TO EXPECT
I will discuss with you what you wish to achieve for yourself from the session. Feel free to share any ideas you have. Never hesitate to ask questions. If you feel you may need something extra to help you relax and feel comfortable, let me know. Although I have lots of info available on my blog or printed documents, I'm always available to you via email, text, or phone.

WHAT TO WEAR

"What should I wear?" Is probably the question I get from about 95% of my clients. Feel free to bring what you feel comfortable in. If you feel attractive in it, wear it!
-Tops should have interesting neck lines and be very dark or very light for separation. You don't want to wear a color that comes anywhere close to your skin tone, otherwise it will all just blend. If you choose black, make sure it is free of lint.
-Textures in clothes are good (e.g. ribbed) Bring a variety of necklines, textures, light and dark fabrics. Also, include light and dark undergarments with no textures.
-*Please don't be afraid of color. If you are looking for a more fun, interesting, different shoot, then color can make it work for you.
-For the bottom, one good pair of blue jeans, black jeans, black slacks and black shoes is all you need.
-Don't stress over finding the right shoes. For the more natural look, bare feet is best. If you have glasses, please be prepared to take out the lenses or bring extra frames without the lenses.

If more than one person will be photographed, please coordinate the outfits. The shots below are great examples of coordinated colors, patterns, and textures.

If you find yourself stressing over choosing the perfect outfit, plain white
tops and jeans will ALWAYS work.
Keep in mind, SIMPLE goes a long way.

*SESSION ETIQUETTE*
~Be on time. I like to get the most out of your appointment.
~No outside cameras are allowed at the session...this includes cell phone cameras

Tips:
Keep an open mind, relax, and have fun.
Trust the photographer.
Feel free to bring your child's favorite toy or stuffed animal.
Be aware of dry, chapped lips (especially in winter).
Parents: For your youngsters, never worry about their rambunctious behavior on the set. I promise I will still be able to capture great images. I never expect a little one to sit and pose in one spot on demand...it is just not in their nature.
